Hello My name is Glen Seary I am Currently seeking an apprenticeship within a growing Company to earn my way to becoming a journeymen. I have 5 years experience in the telecommunication industry gaining a lot of relatable skills to electrical work, For a non-apprentice worker I have my training certificates, I have a thorough knowledge of the basics of electrical wiring, circuits, conduit, fire alarm, code and theory equal to first year apprentice training. I also have taken construction estimating and quality concepts at durham college. I take great pride in my work making sure it is to code and done at the highest quality. Hire me and you get an apprentice that dedicated, hard working, trained and able to work independently from the start! I am currently taking Electrical Pre-apprenticeship Training at the B. G. McPherson Training Center, A registered career college in Oshawa Ontario. I will received my Pre-Apprentice Certificate july 25th 2014. Throughout this course I have been educated to interpret and read the Canadian Electrical Code and blueprints. Understand Ohms Law (proton and electron theory,) Edison 3-wire. Learned how to apply C.E.C. code rules and regulations to hands on wiring such as; • • • • Residential branch circuits EMT conduit Fire alarm systems Underground and overhead services. I have also received my training certificates, these qualifications include WHMIS, Fall Arrest, Lockout & Tagout, Confined spaces, Scaffolding, H2S Alive, High Angle rescue training, and Asbestos training I recognize that becoming an apprentice is a great privilege and a unique opportunity, I will always respect my apprenticeship. I have committed myself to the pre-apprentice program and have learned a lot to bring to the table. I wish to offer you my commitment in entering an apprenticeship agreement, where I will be dedicated to bringing forth my responsibilities with the highest quality of work and diligence. I currently live in Courtice, Ontario. I have a valid driver’s license, clean criminal background, the proper safety gear and the right tools for the job. I am ready to start my apprenticeship. I have researched the funding available for apprenticeships and have come to find that there are plenty of options out there for me as the apprentice and you as the employer. I have also been made aware of the fact that you guys are eligible for a grant of up to and including $2’000 a year and I am eligible for $1’000 for each of the first years and $2’000 for my last year. There is also another source of funding called the YEF where I may be eligible to have my wages paid for the first 4-6months. I also have some personal references available upon your request.
