Industrial Electrician The Electrician will maintain and repair process equipment to NEC and OSHA standards. This position will also maintain and repair the plants electrical power distribution system to NEC and OSHA standards. This position will upgrade and/or build electrical and PLC control panels. QUALIFICATIONS Current Electrical license with the State of Texas Current CE hours with the State of Texas Electrical License Board Four years experience working with industrial control systems Four years experience working with 480 volt electrical power distribution systems Four years experience working with PLCs, Drives, and Temperature Controls TRAINING Familiarity with all equipment, processes, electrical systems and facilities is required Drive Programming PLC Programming Temperature Controller Programming Safety System wiring Safety System Programming Annual CE Electrical Hours Arc Flash Qualified Electrical Training Lock Out Tag Out Training DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Layout, install and maintain a wide variety of complex electrical equipment involved in electrical distribution systems on polyethylene blown film extrusion lines and multi-lane bag machines with Autopak equipment 2. Establish secondary distribution centers, balance loads, wire circuits having a large number of units and connections 3. Work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics, sketches, and written and/or verbal instructions 4. Run circuit and wiring, fabricate and install control panels for new installations or remodeling of work areas 5. Trouble shoot all types of Process Equipment Control Panels 6. Ensure all that all Process Equipment Safety Controls are in proper working order 7. Manage the PPE and safety equipment for the maintenance department (Electrical Gloves, Arc Flash Clothing, electrically rated tools, amp meters and volt meters) 8. Replace defective wiring, motors, florescent and ordinary light fixtures 9. Connect wire to lighting fixtures and power equipment 10. Connect power cables and install grounding leads 11. Test continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of all components 12. Perform skilled repair of all electrical equipment and appliances 13. Analyze problem, tear down, repair or replace defective part, and reassemble and test for proper operation and safety 14. Operate a wide variety of precision measuring, recording and test equipment 15. Use hand and power tools of the trade 16. Keep current with all local and national electrical codes 17. Communicate with appropriate production and maintenance personnel regarding electrical problems and provide technical assistance as required 18. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, and defective materials to electrical supervisor 19. Prepare wiring diagrams or schematic drawings for special or unusual requirements or to established standardized wiring procedures 20. Maintain necessary records and perform routine data entry into computerized inventory and purchasing system 21. Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties or as directed 22. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition 23. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations 24.
