To Whom It May Concern, I would like to express my interest in starting an apprenticeship as a Electrician within your company. I consider myself to be a highly responsible and safety oriented individual, which I believe are assets to this position. I am a recent graduate of the Electrical Engineering Technician program at Algonquin College, and previously attended I.E. Weldon Secondary School. Throughout my time at I.E. Weldon I was apart of various sport programs. This involvement has enabled me to strengthen my leadership, communication and teamwork skills. My enrolment in the Electrical Engineering Technician program allowed me to gain the necessary skills to work with, AutoCAD, Excel, Programmable Logic Controls, Electronics, Programming, Motors, Transformers and Instrumentation. This program has also provided me with the skills to work safely on live circuits. I have recently had the privilege to work with Cameron Steel Inc in the maintenance department. This opportunity has enabled me to gain knowledge to work safely with a variety of tools, as well as work safely at heights; whether on a ladder or in scaffolding with a harness. This job is not only physically demanding, but also requires on the spot problem solving during daily tasks. Working with both Millwrights and Electricians in this position has given me knowledge not only in fabrication but also in mechanical and electrical work. This position also requires due dates that have to be met, which have allowed me to develop strong time management and organizational skills. Through being a part of the Lindsay Rugby Club for the past seven years, I have gained excellent teamwork skills and the ability to think quickly in different scenarios. This organization has allowed me to improve on many of my skills through working in a team setting. I have also been able to develop my problem solving skills to deal with various situations. These experiences have given me the opportunity to develop the skills that I believe to be a valuable asset in attaining an apprenticeship with your company.
