Sunera Solar is a dynamic industry leader in electrical service specializing in designing, installing, and optimizing system performance of commercial and residential scale photovoltaic (PV) installations. We are looking for a dynamic, highly skilled, team oriented professional with an active State of Utah Master Electricians license who is looking for a rewarding future in one of today’s most exciting and promising technologies. The base of services will be electrical maintenance, service and repair in the field of renewable energy, specifically solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. While direct experience in PV systems is preferred, experience in installation, service and troubleshooting of variable Frequency Drives / Fire Alarm / DAS and SCADA will provide a sufficient base from which to acclimate. Additionally, a strong understanding of the fundamentals of electricity and sound troubleshooting skills are required. Description of duties Below is a brief description of duties that will be expected from this position. These Duties May Change As Required • Knowledge of all applicable codes: NEC, OSHA, etc. • Experience in retrofit and new construction • Ability to positively identify wire colors by sight. • Troubleshooting: must be able to find the root cause of issues and think logically about solutions. • Customer Service: must be friendly when working on site. • Critical Thinking: when diagnosing problems, must think critically in the process of repairing the issue. • Expert ability to use an array of tools and diagnostic devices to review and install electrical parts • Expert ability to read and understand 2-D drawings • Experience with Microsoft Office tools • Excellent communication skills • Be able to work effectively in a team oriented environment • Highly motivated and a self-starter, able to work with little supervision • License must be current, including continuing education • Trained and qualified to use appropriate PPE when necessary (i.e. ARC flash trained and experienced) • High School graduate or GED, some college or technical schooling preferred • Valid driver license in good standing • Write detailed work instructions on all new tasks performed • Document all receipts, labor cards and sub-contractor invoices • Assist with on site safety assessments and identify all safety hazards on job-site, then draft safety proposals to be used in instructing all other employees on proper safety protocol • Document and research all non-conforming issues found after an inspection. • Provide technical support and consistent application of standards and procedures, so as to provide quality assurance for Maintenance, Operations and Engineering for new and existing installations Required • State Licensed Master Electrician • Strong computer skills – Excel, Word, overall navigation and organization • Clean driving record and back ground • Troubleshooting and service experience in either power conditioning units, fire alarm, DAS/SCADA • Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills • Experienced in measuring voltage, current, frequency, insulation, and phase rotation • Willing to travel • Ability to gather data accurately and compile and prepare professional reports on field activities Recommended but NOT Mandatory • Experience with commercial PV systems • Experience with firmware upgrade procedures • NABCEP certification • DAS/SCADA installation and troubleshooting experience
